SPEAK Test Test Information Sheet
For University of Washington use ONLY
The SPEAK Test given by the University of Washington's Testing Center is for University of Washington students only. To take the SPEAK test you must have applied to the University of Washington Graduate School. The results will not be sent to any other institution.
| FEE: | The test is FREE the first time it is taken. The fee for retesting is $35.00. Test fees are to be paid at the time of testing by cash or check. |
| REGISTRATION: | PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by calling the Office of Educational Assessment at 206-543-1171 or in-person in Schmitz Hall room 440. Register approximately two weeks in advance of the desired test date. Space is limited. |
| SCORES: | Results from the test are mailed to the examinee approximately two weeks after the test date. |
| ON THE DAY OF THE TEST: | The examinee must bring picture identification, and know her/his student number or social security number. If you arrive after the scheduled test time, you will not be admitted to the examination. No aids are permitted during the test. You may not bring dictionaries, books, scratch paper, calculators, or notebooks with you on the day of the test. You are not allowed to take notes during the examination. |
| STUDY: | In Schmitz 440, you may review a SPEAK Examinee Handbook and Sample Questions. Since we do not have enough copies to distribute the handbook, you will need to review the booklet in our lobby. This material is under copywrite restriction and therefore may not be copied. Or, you may use any national TSE information for review. The TSE is part of the national TOEFL program and is similar in examination structure. |
| RETESTS: | Retests may be taken 6 Months after the examinee's most recent test date. |
