Research Services
At OEA, we are flexible and committed to providing you with the services you need. Although we offer services in three general areas (assessment, program evaluation, and research support), many projects might not fit neatly within a single category. The descriptive information below is offered to introduce you to our services. We'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Description of Services
Assessment provides UW faculty and administrators with information to help them understand and improve the student experience. Some examples of assessment client questions are:
- How do UW undergraduates develop in their critical thinking?
- What are the learning goals for students in my program, course, or department?
- How can I assess whether graduating seniors in my department have developed transferable skills?
Program Evaluation supports the development and improvement of educational programs and initiatives at the UW through data-based inquiry. Some examples of program evaluation client questions are:
- How can I assess whether my program or initiative is meeting its goals?
- What is the experience of participants in my program?
- How can my program be improved?
Research Support participates in the design and implementation of a wide range of studies at the request of parties both within and outside the UW. Some examples of research support client questions are:
- How do students, faculty, and staff use library services?
- What is the relationship between WASL scores and university performance?
- Can I make a scannable version of my questionnaire?
