Arts Roundup: Dance Majors Concert, Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ – and Buy Art

It’s a busy week for the arts: the School of Drama collaborates with Seattle Children’s Theatre, Pacific MusicWorks presents Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and the UW Concert and Campus Bands perform their winter quarter concert. Experience contemporary dance at the UW Dance Majors concert and head over to the School of Art + Art History + Design’s annual sale, Buy Art.

“The Walk Across America for Mother Earth”
February 24-28 | Glenn Hughes Penthouse Theater
The School of Drama partners with Washington Ensemble Theater for a play about two young friends who flee their suburban upbringing in “Real America” to join a ragtag group of activists on a protest march. “The Walk Across America for Mother Earth” explores how the idea of community sometimes fails to unite us, and sometimes brings us together in the most unexpected ways. Luis Croquer, deputy director of exhibitions, collections and programs at The Henry, discusses the complex relationship between drawing and sculpture in the Henry’s current exhibit, “Franz Erhard Walther: The Body Draws.” More info.

Pacific MusicWorks Orchestra teams up with talented soloists from the Northwest to present one of classical music’s biggest hits: Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons.” More info.

Brooklyn Bridge
Through March 20 | Seattle Children’s Theater
The UW School of Drama teams up with Seattle Children’s Theatre for “Brooklyn Bridge,” a humorous drama celebrating the making of things, from research papers and bridges to communities. Designed for families with children ages 8 and up. More info.
