New faculty salary policy to be discussed at town hall Weds.
All faculty are invited to a town hall discussion of the proposed new faculty salary policy at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, in the Walker Ames Room (225) in Kane Hall.
The first half of the program will be devoted to a panel discussion and debate of the major arguments for and against the policy that have emerged so far. The five faculty panelists and the moderator come from diverse units: Arts & Sciences, Medicine, Business, Public Health, UW Bothell, and Public Affairs.
The second half will be devoted to answering questions from the audience. In addition to the panelists, the Chair of the Faculty Council on Faculty Affairs, which is currently drafting the pertinent faculty code sections, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Faculty Senate, the Chair of the Senate Committee on Planning and Budgeting, and some UW administrators, will be available to respond. Participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance to senate@uw.edu.
