Arts Roundup: Exhibits, lectures — and Axis Dance Company

In what is a quiet week for many of the arts units on campus, the UW World Series presents Axis Dance Company in a contemporary and physically integrated performance.  Activities also include exhibit openings and lectures from the School of Art and the Burke Museum.

Innovative ensemble featuring performers with and without disabilities. Winner of seven Isadora Duncan Dance Awards. Presented by the UW World Series.

Haicheng Wang lecture
6 p.m., Oct. 8 | Art Building, room 317
Wang, assistant professor of art history, will discuss his research on Chinese art. This lecture is part of the tenure and promotion process.

Amie McNeel | Mark Zirpel exhibits

3-Dimensional Forum ceramics|glass|sculpture assistant professors McNeel and Zirpel show their work in exhibitions and give presentations as part of the tenure and promotion process. Zirpel will speak at 6 p.m. Oct. 3, and McNeel at 6 p.m. Oct. 10, both at the Henry Art Gallery. Free but seat reservations are recommended.
