Public Hearing Notice: “Alcoholic Beverage Policy”

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at Noon on Friday, June 7, 2013, in Room 142 of Gerberding Hall, on the UW Seattle campus. The purpose of the hearing is to allow all interested persons an opportunity to present their views, either orally or in writing, on the proposed amendments to WAC 478-136-041, “Alcoholic Beverage Policy.”

Currently, the UW’s alcoholic beverage policy does not provide for licensing under a sports entertainment facility license. The proposed WAC rule amendment will make it clear that alcohol sales, service, and consumption in Husky Stadium will be governed by and must be in compliance with such a license issued by the Washington State Liquor Control Board. The operating plan required to obtain the annual sports entertainment facility license will limit alcohol sale, service, and consumption to suite and club areas, approximately five percent of available seating in the renovated Husky Stadium.

Advance copies of the proposed WAC rules may be obtained by contacting Rebecca Goodwin Deardorff, Director of Rules Coordination, Box 351210 or by phone at 206-543-9219. Copies will also be available at the hearing.

Persons wishing to provide written comment may submit their remarks to Ms. Deardorff at the above address, by email to rules@uw.edu, or by fax to 206-685-3825, by June 7, 2013.
