MIT grad brings show about women, math to UW

Being a female mathematician is the key theme of an autobiographical one-woman show brought to Seattle by the University of Washington Mathematics Department, the School of Drama and the College of Arts and Sciences.

The show, written and performed by Gioia De Cari, will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Dec 1, 2 and 3 at the Ethnic Cultural Theater. Tickets are available here. The show is called “Truth Values: One girls romp through MITs male math maze.”

At other colleges on the West Coast tour, diversity officials have praised the show for bringing up the challenges related to gender that often sit beneath the surface.
