Chamber Singers, University Chorale to perform

The Chamber Singers and University Chorale present their annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Meany Theater.

The Chamber Singers, conducted by Music Professor Geoffrey Boers, perform “Songs of Love and War,” featuring faculty artist Michael Partington on guitar. The set includes selections by Jeffrey Van, Alf Houkum, Lars Johann Werle, Johannes Brahms, and Claudio Monteverdi.

The University Chorale performs works from the Elizabethan era and modern settings of Shakespearean and Elizabethan texts, including Steven Stuckys evocative Whispers and the motet it is based upon, William Byrds Ave Verum Corpus. The Chorale also presents Vaughan Williams masterwork Three Shakespeare Songs. The chorale is conducted by Assistant Professor of Music  Giselle Wyers.
