More than 200 neighbors attend UW Neighborhood Ravenna Clinic opening

More than 200 adults and children came to the event.  Each was issued either an adult or child Passport to Health before they toured the clinic.  UW Medicine health professionals offered to measure kids height, weight and blood pressure at various stations and stamp their passports.  Adults could obtain similar screenings (and stamps), and a personal risk factor assessment for heart disease.

The clinic staff noted that they were excited to support the healthy lifestyles of their local community, and getting to meet the open house visitors.  The Ravenna Clinic is the newest among the ­­eight UW Neighborhood Clinics of UW Medicine.

The ribbon cutting for the Ravenna Clinic took place the Thursday before, with remarks by Meg Kerrigan, executive director, UW Neighborhood Clinics;  Dr. Pete McGough, chief medical officer, UW Neighborhood Clinics,  Johnese Spisso, chief health system officer, UW Medicine,  and Dr. Paul Ramsey, CEO, UW Medicine, and dean, UW School of Medicine.

The UW Medicine physicians practicing at the Ravenna Clinic are:

Dr. Stephen Emmons, Family Medicine. His areas of expertise are individual and family care, diabetes care, preventive care, patient education, and travel medicine.

Dr. Lucy Hwang, Family Medicine. Her areas of expertise are individual and family care, diabetes care, preventive care, and womens health.

Dr. Sue Moreni, Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her areas of expertise are prenatal care, childbirth, and womens reproductive system care, and caring for women throughout their lives.

Dr. Pam Sheffield, Family Medicine. Her areas of expertise are infant, child, and adolescent care, care for the entire family, preventive care and womens health.

Dr. Zubin Vasavada, Family Medicine. His areas of expertise are caring for men, women, and children of all ages; chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and helping people reach personal health goals.

Dr. Crystal Wong, Family Medicine. Her areas of expertise are obstetrics, pediatrics, preventive medicine, primary care, and womens health.

The UW Neighborhood Ravenna Clinic is located at 4915 25th Avenue, Suite 300-W, Seattle, just north of University Village.

The clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 8: a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
