Toastmasters hold open houses

UW News

Two UW-related Toastmasters clubs are holding open houses — one Oct. 6 and one on Oct. 13.

The Husky Toastmasters will hold an open house from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in 170 Schmitz, the same time and place of the groups weekly meeting.

The Speak to Succeed Toastmasters Club, near Harborview Medical Center, will hold an open house for its weekly meeting as well, 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at 319 Terry Ave., room 16.

Steve Kato, Speak to Succeed Toastmasters member, said the open house is to show the public what goes on in a Toastmasters meeting. “We welcome all people to learn about and build their communication and leadership skills in a supportive, positive, and fun environment.”

The meeting is free and open to all. For more information, email Kato at stevkato@uw.edu or visit the Speak to Succeed Toastmasters website.
