On Friday, September 9, UW President Michael Young cut the ribbon, marking the official opening of the Washington Commons, the new public space for UW alumni located across the plaza from the main entrance of the UW Tower.

Local luminaries attended the event, intended as a place for alumni to visit and enjoy the free coffee available to UW Alumni Association members.

Alumni are invited to stop by between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to check out the space, use the WiFi (available to alumni with UW NetIDs and passwords), and take in the art and décor that make the area a celebration of the UW and its current and former attendees.
