Legendary stadium takes a final bow on UWTV with ‘Greatest Moments at Husky Stadium

This month UWTV premieres a new, 10-part series called Greatest Moments at Husky Stadium that celebrates the history and enduring legacy of Husky Stadium.

The series will premiere at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, on UWTV channel 27, and will air twice every Friday night — at 6:30 p.m. and again at 9 p.m. — with an encore airing at 7 p.m. Monday.  Viewers can also watch episodes and learn more about the series online.

The show is a tribute to the magical place where the Husky football team takes to the field, season after season, creating lasting memories for the many fans and players in a stadium like no other in the country.

Presented in part by Wright Runstad & Co and Ivars Salmon House, each half hour, weekly episode will show more than a series of game highlights.  Viewers will go behind the scenes into the locker room, the tunnel and onto the field with the players, coaches and fans, recalling the moments that made the stadium an integral part of the Seattle community.

With a distinguished history and upcoming renovation at Husky Stadium, the series will count down the best moments of the first 91 years on Montlake. These defining moments in UW football history are illuminated by the players who lived them.  UW football legends appearing in the program include: Don James, Steve Sarkisian, Jim Lambright, Warren Moon, Bob Rondeau, Sonny Sixkiller and many other significant players and long-time media professionals.

The series makes extensive use of rarely seen archived film, along with still photos, personal memories from players and fans, and music from the iconic Husky Marching Band.
