Husky Film Night offers preview of Seattle International Film Festival
UWTV and the Seattle International Film Festival are teaming up to provide an exclusive opportunity to UW students and the community to preview some of the 400 films featured at the annual film festival. “Husky Film Night” will allow students and visitors to review trailers of specially selected films, many of which will be screened nearby at the University Districts Neptune Theatre. A panel of programmers from SIFF will also discuss how and why films were chosen for the festival, and how filmgoers can find movies that interest them.
“Husky Film Night” will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, in Kane Halls Walker-Ames room. Attendees will have the chance to enter to win free passes to SIFF screenings, and students can also purchase specially priced ticket packages on site. Attendees will be able to find additional information about all the films and events that are part of the three-week-long annual film festival.
The panel will be emceed by Andrew Tsao, associate professor of drama, who also hosts the UWTV and SIFF produced program, Backstory: The Filmmakers Vision. Additional information on Backstory as well as hosted segments of the original independent filmmaking series can be seen online. Backstory airs Saturday nights at 9 p.m., on UWTV channel 27.
