Welcome sign of spring: Primo Plant Sale returns April 30-May 1

Are you lusting for lobelia, yearning for yews, craving Corylopsis, or itching for Ipomoea? Then you wont want to miss the Arboretum Foundations annual FlorAbundance Spring Plant Sale.

The sale — the regions largest and best — returns to Building 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. April 30, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1 at Seattles Warren G. Magnuson Park.

As always, dozens of specialty nurseries and vendors will be on hand offering a spectacular array of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, vegetable starts, and more — from the latest introductions to old favorites. Learn more at the sales website.

This years features include:

  • Grafted tomatoes from Log House Plants;
  • A fabulous collection of heirloom vegetables and tomatoes;
  • The best selection of clematis anywhere;
  • All the perennials you never knew you wanted;
  • Unusual shrubs from Colvos Creek and Robinwood nurseries;

You can also benefit from the advice of gardening experts wholl be roving the aisles (in yellow aprons) to help with plant selections. And look for the colored surveyor flags, which will mark the favorite plants of gardening guru Ciscoe Morris and plantsman extraordinaire Bob Lilly at the sale this year.

There will be a presale and party for Arboretum Foundation members and their guests from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 29. Early bird tickets for the party are $20, or its $25 at the door. You can purchase tickets online or by phoning.
