Community invited to PERLA Latin American global health symposium April 29

The afternoon will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a series of three moderated panels. Jaime Sepulveda, MD, MPH, DrSC, a Senior Fellow and Director of Special Initiatives of the Global Health Program at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will deliver the keynote lecture: “Mesoamerica: Health Opportunities for a Neglected Region” as part of the Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA) Discovery Series.

PERLA (Spanish for pearl) was formed by Dr. Joe Zunt, a neurologist with 15 years of research and training activities in Peru, and his colleagues in global health as a vehicle to increase networking for students, faculty and colleagues to synergize research, training and service activities in Latin American – especially those focusing on improving health.
