Symphonic, Concert and Campus bands to perform Feb. 17 at Meany

The UW Symphonic, Concert and Campus bands will perform an evening of music for wind band ensembles at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, in Meany Hall.

The program will include An Original Suite, by Gordon Jacob; Spring Festival, by Chen Yi; Albanian Dance, by Shelley Hanson; Somerset Rhapsody, by Gustav Holst; March from Symphonic Metamorphosis, by Paul Hindemith; Sea Songs, by Ralph Vaughan Williams; Down a Country Lane, by Aaron Copland; and Hounds of Spring, by Alfred Reed.

Conducting the Campus Band will be Ethan Chessin and Nathan Rengstorf, both graduate students in the Music Education division. Conducting the Symphonic Band will be Steven Morrison, Donald E. Petersen Endowed Fellow and associate professor and chair of music education; and Alison Farley, a graduate student in music education. Conducting the Concert Band will be Vu Nguyen and Erin Bodnar, doctoral students in instrumental conducting.
