Study volunteers needed

Healthy volunteers are needed for an HIV vaccine study being conducted by the HIV Vaccine Trials Unit – Seattle, a program of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The study seeks men and women, age 18 to 50, who are free of HIV infection to test the safety and effectiveness of a combination of two experimental HIV vaccines. The vaccines cannot cause HIV infection.

This phase 2 study is called the HVTN 205 vaccine trial and is sponsored by the federal government and administered by the HIV Vaccine Trials Network. It tests the vaccines’ ability to mimic the structures of HIV in hopes that a person’s immune system will develop a response to them and learn to recognize HIV without being exposed to real HIV.

To enroll in the HVTN 205 study or for more information, please call 206-667-2300 or e-mail info@seattlevaccines.org.
