A mobile clinic for mammography is coming to campus this month.

The MammoVan is a customized, mobile mammography clinic provided by the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance that brings the latest technology in digital mammograms to the workplace.

The MammoVan will be at the UW:

  • Monday, Dec. 6, 8:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m., C-10 parking lot, Bloedel Hall.
  • Monday, Dec. 20, 8:30 a.m. to 3: 30 p.m., parking lot W-13, between University Way and Brooklyn Ave.

The HR-Benefits Office is sponsoring the MammoVan visits, which are open to faculty, staff, librarians and retirees. For women age 40 and older, annual mammogram screenings are fully covered with no deductible by state health plans.

Appointments are preferred and can be made by calling 206-288-7800 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. week days. The average appointment time is about 15 minutes. The van also accepts walk-ins whenever possible. Knock on the door to inquire about the next appointment. The van also will be at Harborview Medical Center several days in December.
