For its fall meeting, the UW Professional Staff Association will offer a talk by Margaret Shepherd, UW director of state relations. Shepherd will speak on what the coming legislative season meanw to the UW, its departments, and the careers of PSO members.
The meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in Kane Hall’s Walker-Ames Room.
Shepherd’s presentation will focus on the opportunities and challenges of the upcoming 2011 legislative session during unprecedented economic times. She will also share the UW’s legislative proposal to protect the State’s investment in public higher education and why it matters.
Shepherd works with state legislators, elected officials and state agency officials to advance the academic and legislative agenda of the University.
