Grand reopening of “Husky Central” downtown tomorrow

News and Information

A new one-stop location downtown for “everything Husky” is set to open tomorrow.

The new location, 1319 Fourth Ave., is intended to connect students, alumni, professionals, tourists, prospective students and fans to the University of Washington. It is an expansion of the original Husky Central, which opened nearby in Sept. 2009.

Husky Central guests will be able to buy merchandise and find details about admissions, events on campus, tours, tickets and more. The new location has three components: a large retail space containing mostly athletic apparel and other UW-related merchandise; a second-floor classroom and small lobby area that will also function as an event space; and the Husky Central Visitors & Welcome Center on the first floor.

Husky Central’s hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The grand opening will include a performance by the Husky Band and Cheer Squad at 11 a.m. Husky Central also will conduct drawings for prizes all week.
