UW News

A team of computer scientists led by Tadayoshi Kohno, an assistant professor of computer science and engineering at the University of Washington, and Stefan Savage, an associate professor of computer science and engineering at the University of California San Diego, have conducted an experimental study of security in modern automobiles.

UW doctoral student Karl Koscher will present the peer-reviewed paper “Experimental Security Analysis of a Modern Automobile” on Wednesday in Oakland, Calif. at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Symposium on Security and Privacy.

Answers to frequently asked questions about the study are posted here.

The faculty, students and staff who conducted this research are part of the Center for Automotive Embedded Systems Security, a collaboration between the UW and UCSD.
