Journal editor survey deadline extended to Jan. 8

In October a survey of current, recent and prospective UW journal editors was announced through the Board of Deans and Chancellors. Aimed at establishing a current contact list and facilitating communication among journal editors, the survey (available online here) has attracted 115 responses so far.

That strong display of interest has prompted the original survey deadline of Dec. 18 to be extended to Friday, Jan. 8. In addition to asking editors to identify the journals they are working with, the survey asks participants whether they would be interested in meeting with other editors to discuss common concerns, and what topics would be of most interest. Based on responses so far, a meeting during winter quarter will be organized, and survey respondents will be contacted about the details.

The survey is sponsored by the UW Graduate School, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Office of Research, the Faculty Council on University Libraries and UW Libraries.
