Video highlights unusual ‘art’ display illustrating the effects of rising sea level

A new video shows a recent project from the UW Program on Climate Change to demonstrate the many changes to the Puget Sound region expected because of rising sea level. A group of UW students led by Cecilia Bitz, an associate professor of atmospheric sciences, created the unusual exhibit that was on display Oct. 10-24 at the Seattle Art Museum’s Sculpture Garden near the downtown Seattle waterfront (see our story here).

The video was prepared by Harry Hayward and Feliz Efe of UW Media Relations and Communications. The exhibit was built by Bitz and Paul Hezel, a graduate student in Atmospheric Sciences; Amy Cash, a graduate student in Oceanography; and Kristin Poinar, a graduate student in Earth and Space Sciences, in conjunction with Jackie White, the art museum’s environmental steward and a UW graduate.
