Community premiere of animation by deaf and hard of hearing students planned Friday

Students at the Summer Academy for Advancing Deaf & Hard of Hearing in Computing will show the results of their work in animation at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, in 125 Electrical Engineering.

Ten of the brightest deaf and hard of hearing students from all over the country attended the 9-week Academy, where they took classes in computer programming and animation, as well as meeting deaf and hard of hearing role models already working in computing. More information on this program is available here.

In addition to the students’ work, video highlights of the summer academy will be shown. This is an academic presentation and is not intended for younger audiences.

After the program there will be a dessert social in the adjoining Paul G. Allen Center for Computer Science and Engineering. For more information, contact Program Coordinator Rob Roth, robroth@cs.washington.edu.
