Third location of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute opens today

The third location of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute opens today in Everett.

The public is invited to a 3 p.m. ceremony at the Everett Senior Center, 3025 Lombard Ave.

UW Educational Outreach administers the institute, which offers 35 to 40 short courses and special events each quarter for people 50 and older.

UW instructors, retired UW faculty members and community experts teach the courses, which range from arts and history to health science research. Annual membership in the institute is $110.

Institute classes are also offered on the UW Seattle campus as well as at Trilogy at Redmond Ridge, a planned housing development for seniors in Redmond.

“We’re pleased to partner with the City of Everett to open the third location of OLLI-UW, said Susan Turner, director of the institute and senior director of academic programs for UW Education Outreach. “It’s one more way to share the intellectual resources of the University with the Puget Sound community and beyond.”

The institute is funded by a grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation. Click here for more information.
