Book store offers thank you event for students, faculty, staff Nov. 20

University Book Store will hold the sixth annual celebration of current UW students, faculty and staff on Thursday, Nov. 20. Participating locations include the University District (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.), Tacoma (9 a.m. – 7 p.m.), Bothell (9 a.m. – 8 p.m.) and the HUB (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).

“This is by far the most important event we hold each year because it is our opportunity to thank and celebrate you, our UW student, faculty and staff family, for being such great customers and supporters of our store,” said book store CEO Bryan Pearce. “We will be throwing quite a party, complete with giveaways, prizes, games, entertainment, special product promotions, additional merchandise discounts throughout the store, and much, much more. It’s an experience you won’t soon forget. We look forward to seeing you!”

All current UW students, faculty and staff are invited to save 20 percent storewide (some restrictions apply), enjoy free refreshments, a free Eco-cup while supplies last, and are invited to enter to win gift baskets and iPod Shuffles at all locations.

Local band The Senate will be playing at the University District location from 6-8 p.m. Using acoustic guitars, an upright bass and three voices, the Senate writes music grounded in polyrhythmic grooves, three-part vocal harmonies and a heavily percussive playing style.

The University District store celebration will also feature special games, the ever-popular “Cram It, Jam It” shopping spree, and prize drawings for a Sony PlayStation 3, an Apple MacBook laptop, a Husky iPod, an iPod Shuffle, a kayak, a Trek 820 Mountain Bike, Husky gear and gift cards.

All winners must be over 18 and have a valid UW ID, and winners at the University District location must be present to win. Please visit www.ubookstore.com for more information.
