‘Synthesis’: The Visual Arts 2008 Senior Exhibition

The UW Interdisciplinary Visual Arts program will present its 2008 Senior Exhibiton, titled Synthesis, June 11 to 14 at the School of Art’s Sandpoint Gallery in Seattle’s Magnuson Park. The works are the students’ capstone projects, the culmination of four years of study.

There will be an artists reception 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 13, at the gallery. The Sandpoint Gallery is located at 7527 63rd Ave. NE, Building 5, Bay C, second floor.

For this exhibition, 36 students from diverse and wide-ranging backgrounds collaborated under the leadership of lecturers Timea Tihanyi and Anne Stevens.

The items on display will range in media from wearable art to video installation, using techniques of oil painting, photography, printmaking and sculptural fabrication in new ways.

Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. For more information, visit online at http://art.washington.edu/iva.
