South Lake Union informational session set for May 12

UW Medicine’s presence in South Lake Union continues to grow. Phase II construction is nearing completion with labs and offices moving in this summer!


UW faculty, staff and students, along with representatives from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Children’s Research Institute, are invited to get a glimpse of the research communities and resources available at the south end of the lake at an informational session on Monday, May 12. The informational event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. The schedule follows.




  • 1:00-1:30 pm – Posters and refreshments in the Health Sciences Lobby
  • 1:30-2:30 pm – Centers and resources presentations in the Hogness Auditorium
  • 2:30-3:00 pm – One-on-one follow-up Q&A, in Hogness Auditorium and the Health Sciences Lobby


UW Medicine centers currently located at South Lake Union include Existing UW Medicine at South Lake Union centers include: Allergy and Inflammation, Anesthesiology,Cardiovascular Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Lung Biology, Translational Medicine in Women’s Health, and Vascular Imaging.


Centers scheduled for location at SLU during Phase II include the Diabetes and Obesity Center of Excellence and the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine.
