Finalists for dean of School of Law announced

A number of finalists for the deanship of the School of Law have been identified by the search committee and will begin visiting the university for interviews and public presentations over the next several weeks. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the presentations by each candidate.


In addition to participating in public forums, each candidate will meet with various campus organizations and campus leaders during their visits. Their schedules will include sessions with faculty, staff, students, and administrators.


The finalists currently scheduled for campus visits are:


Steven L. Willborn, dean and Richard C. and Catherine Stuart Schmoker professor of law, University of Nebraska. Campus interviews January 24 and 25. Public presentation 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25.


Gregory Hicks, interim dean of the School of Law, University of Washington. Campus interviews January 30 and 31. Public presentation 3 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30.


Lawrence Zelenak, Pamela B. Gann professor of law, Duke University School of Law. Campus interviews February 7 and 8. Public presentation 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8.


Mary Anne Bobinski, dean and professor, Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia. Campus interviews February 14 and 15. Public presentation 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15.


All public presentations will be held in William H. Gates Hall, Room 138, with a reception to follow. Candidate CVs will be posted to The Office of the Provost web page at http://www.washington.edu/provost/searches/index.html


Any additional candidates scheduled for campus visits will be announced in due course.
