UW Dentists Faculty Practice offers full services

If you’re a member of the UW community and are looking for comprehensive and easily accessible dental care, check out the UW Dentists Faculty Practice clinic. For the first time at the UW, faculty dental providers are offering dental care all in one location in the Health Sciences Building, next to the UW Medical Center. The clinic, also available to the general public, is especially convenient to faculty, staff and students who can walk, take a shuttle or Metro transit to get their dental needs met right on campus.

The consolidation of the practice in one location offers dental patients expert dental providers who are trusted and respected for excellence in their specialties and who set the standard for dental care.

“This new interdisciplinary facility will be an important resource for our School and will allow more streamlined patient flow and easier access to care. With expert practitioners in every dental field, the practice will serve as a resource for the UW community and alumni looking for affordable dental care,” said Dr. Nestor Cohenca, UW Dentists Faculty Practice Board chair. “The development of the new Faculty Practice will strive for a better integration of the departments and services and create a genuine, interdisciplinary approach.”

The Faculty Practice offers a number of services, including same-day emergency care, consultation with experts in their field, and referrals to appropriate providers.

“Services include general and esthetic dentistry, dental hygiene, root canal treatment, implants, treatment of gum diseases, full-mouth rehabilitation, oral surgery, orthodontics, children’s dentistry, oral medicine and orofacial pain,” Cohenca said.

The Faculty Practice also offers, through its Dental Fears Clinic, expertise in calming fearful dental patients.
