Music school offers many concerts

A pilgrimage in song, faculty performances, a composers’ workshop and a special evening featuring several bands will be offered by the School of Music in coming days.


  • The UW’s select, 47-voice University Chorale, directed by Giselle Wyers, will sing works spanning more than 300 years in Songlines: Music of Travel, Pilgrimage and Discovery at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, in Meany Theater. Tickets are $10.
  • The Contemporary Group, comprising faculty members Regina Yeh on piano, Sean Osborn on clarinet and Melia Watras on viola together with guest artists, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, in Meany Theater. Tickets are $10.
  • The UW Wind Ensemble, together with the symphonic, campus and concert bands will perform an evening of music titled Destinations at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in Meany Theater. Tickets are $10.
  • School of Music students will perform their own compositions in the Composers’ Workshop at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, in Brechemin Auditorium. Tickets are $5.
