Remodel of Health Sciences G & H wings under way

Work has begun to turn the courtyard between Pacific Street and the Rotunda at the base of the Health Sciences Building’s I wing into a delivery and staging area for the project to remodel the G and H wings of the building. The photo from above looks west, with the steps from the T wing to the Rotunda in the foreground. The ground-level shot is taken from the sidewalk along Pacific Street.

Work on the remodel itself was scheduled to begin on April 25, when utilities were to be shut off for the affected sections before demolition could begin. The whole project is scheduled to last for 20 months. When it is done, the courtyard will be restored. In the meantime, pedestrian access to the I Court Rotunda and to the west end of the T wing will be open.
