Parsons Dance company coming to Meany

The UW World Series will present the renowned Parsons Dance company in performance Feb. 22-24 in Meany Hall.


Formed by David Parsons, one of the world’s most beloved and inspired choreographers, Parsons Dance is committed to building new audiences for contemporary dance by creating American works of extraordainary artistry that engage and uplift audiences worldwide.


The company tours nationally and internationally, including annual seasons in New York, Brazil and Italy. In 2000, the group performed for a worldwide television audience as part of Times Square 2000, a 24-hour live performance marathon. The group also reaches children and students through special performances and lectures. The company comprises 10 full-time dancers and maintains a repertory of more than 70 works choreographed by Parsons himself.


Parsons Dance is part of the UW World Series. Tickets are $39 each, available at the UW Arts Ticket Office, 4001 University Way NE, by 206-543-4880 or online at www.uwworldseries.org. Students with IDs and seniors age 55 and older may purchase half-price, cash-only rush tickets one-half hour before curtain at the Meany Hall Box Office.
