University Symphony concert features competition winners

The University Symphony, under the baton of Peter Eros, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 in Meany Theater. The concert will feature the music students who were winners of the November concerto competition — Dmitry Kosovskiy, piano; Hae-Yoon Shin, cello; Hsiao-Chieh Lin, flute; and Megumi Azekawa, saxophone.


The program includes Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37, Shostakovich’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, No. 1, Op. 107 (Allegretto), Carl Nielsen’s Concerto for Flute (I. Allegro moderato, II. Allegretto) and Robert Muczynski’s Concerto for Saxophone and Chamber Orchestra, Op. 41 (I. Allegro energico, II. Andante maestro).


Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
