Notice of Public Hearings (no smoking policy)

Notice is hereby given that three public hearings will be held for the purpose of allowing all interested persons an opportunity to present their views, either orally or in writing, on the proposed amendments to Chapter 478-136 WAC, “Use of University of Washington Facilities,” concerning the UW’s No Smoking Policy.

The three public hearings are scheduled as follows:


  • Nov. 29 at noon in Room 005, UW2 Building of the UW Bothell campus.
  • Dec. 1 at noon in Room 309, Husky Union Building (HUB) of the UW Seattle campus.
  • Dec. 5 at noon in the Carwein Auditorium, 1st floor of the Keystone building of the UW Tacoma campus.

The University seeks to amend its smoking rules in Chapter 478-136 WAC consistent with the provisions of I-901 (Chapter 70.160 RCW). The University amended Chapter 478-136 WAC on an emergency basis effective Jan. 31, and now seeks to make the amendments permanent.

Notice of Public Hearing (meeting practices)

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Room 310 of the Husky Union Building (HUB), at the University of Washington, Seattle campus. The purpose of the hearing is to allow all interested persons an opportunity to present their views, either orally or in writing, on the proposed amendments to Chapter 478-04 WAC, “Organization.”

These rules streamline and clarify the meeting practices of the University of Washington’s Board of Regents and other UW governing boards with respect to the Open Public Meetings Act.
