The principal speaker this year is Ed Taylor, vice provost and dean of undergraduate academic affairs and associate professor of educational leadership and policy studies, an accomplished scholar who has been the recipient of a variety of academic honors over the years. The title of his convocation address is “Crossing the Threshold.”

The academic procession will be led by Ronald M. Moore, associate professor of philosophy and university marshal, carrying the university mace. President Mark A. Emmert, members of the Board of Regents, deans, vice presidents, student leaders and recent faculty recipients of outstanding teaching awards, among others, will march in the procession.

The convocation will also feature music by the University Wind Ensemble.
