Search committee named for UW Medical Center leader

Dr. Paul Ramsey, vice president for medical affairs and dean of the UW School of Medicine, has appointed an advisory committee to identify candidates to serve as the next executive director of UW Medical Center (UWMC).

Kathleen Sellick, UWMC’s executive director until the end of May, resigned her position to become the president and chief executive officer of Children’s Hospital and Health Center in San Diego.

John Coulter, associate vice president for administration, will chair the committee.

Other members are Dr. Norm Beauchamp, chair of radiology; Dr. Sid Nelson, dean of pharmacy; Susan Grant, UWMC’s associate administrator for patient care; Charlotte Guyman, UW Medicine Board member; Dr. Richard Page, division head of cardiology; Dr. Carlos Pellegrini, chair of surgery; Dr. Larry Robinson, vice dean for clinical affairs; Ruth Mahan, vice dean for administration and finance; Dr. Ed Walker, UWMC’s medical director; and Shan Mullin, UW Medicine Board member.

A nationwide search will be conducted and it is anticipated that a short list of candidates will most likely be identified by this fall.

Lisa Brandenburg, UWMC’s chief operating officer, is the interim executive director for UWMC.

Any questions or recommendations regarding the search should be directed to John Coulter, 206-543-7202; or e-mail uwmced@u.washington.edu.
