9th Circuit Court of Appeals to Hold Session at Law School

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will hold a special session at the UW School of Law on Friday, May 5, 2006 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in William H. Gates Hall Room 133. The oral argument portions of the day are open to the public.

An appellate panel consisting of Circuit Judges M. Margaret McKeown and Richard R. Clifton, and District Judge David A. Ezra of Hawaii, sitting by designation, will hear appeals of rulings by the federal district courts for western and eastern Washington, and decisions by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

The San Francisco-based appeals court covers nine Western states with a combined population of 58 million people. The court has 28 full-time judges, and its retired judges often consider cases as well.
