UW-South Seattle Community College partnership kicks off with visit; register now to go along

A new partnership between the UW, South Seattle Community College and South Seattle neighborhoods will be celebrated with a day trip to that area, available to all, on May 3, guided by community leaders and faculty advisors from both institutions.

A bus will leave the UW campus at 7:30 a.m. and take riders to the Youngstown Cultural Center in Delridge, then to South Seattle Community College and to Marra Farm in the South Park area, then to the Salvadorian Bakery in White Center for lunch.

The excursion will end in downtown White Center with a walking tour and an open house at the Community Partnership Office recently opened by the UW and the community college. The bus will return to the UW campus no later than 2 p.m.

Those wishing to take the trip are asked to contact call 206-616-2181 or e-mail sherrye@u.washington.edu by April 28. For more information about the trip or the new partnership, contact Jim Diers, community liaison, Educational Partnerships and Learning Technologies, at diers@u.washington.edu, or 206-616-3031.
