Airlift to hold memorial service

Airlift Northwest is holding a memorial service today, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at Boeing Field for the three crew members who were killed last Thursday night when their helicopter crashed into Puget Sound north of Edmonds. They were returning to their home base in Arlington after a flight to Harborview Medical Center in downtown Seattle.

The three crew members — Steven Smith, the pilot, and flight nurses Erin Reed and Lois Suzuki—will be honored for their service. The memorial is open to everyone and will be in a hanger at 7777 Perimeter Rd. S. at Boeing Field.

Airlift Northwest is a non-profit organization founded in 1982 by a consortium of Seattle area hospitals including Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center and UW Medical Center. In 2003 Airlift Northwest became an independent, nonprofit organization.
