UW employees to get free help with English

Starting this fall, a centrally-funded program will provide free “English in the Workplace” (EWP) courses to UW employees.

EWP courses will meet 2 times per week for 10 weeks, to help participants develop workplace communication skills including pronunciation and grammar. There is no charge to participants in this new, University-wide offering for UW staff and faculty, however a strong commitment for participant attendance and supervisory support is required. More information is available from UW Training and Development  ( http://www.washington.edu/admin/hr/traindev/ewp/  ); registration for English in the Workplace begins Aug. 23.

Funding from the Provost Office’s Fund for Innovation and Redesign enables an initial, two-year phase.
