Things mother never taught you: Presentation at Harborview on faculty consulting

The series on “Things Your Mother Never Taught You,” sponsored by the School of Medicine’s Office of Industry Relations, will offer a program at Harborview Medical Center on Thursday, April 29.

“Faculty Consulting and Conflict of Interest” is the topic for the hour-long presentation, which will begin at noon in the Research and Training Building auditorium.

The speakers are Dr. Susan Wray, director of industry relations, and Michael Corn, director of regulatory guidance, both with the School of Medicine.

Topics to be covered include how the UW fosters collaborations with industry and the UW rules for consulting, outside employment and conflict of interest. Wray and Corn will answer questions about consulting and start-up business formation.

The presentation is free and registration is not required. Another program in the series will be at Harborview on May 28. For more information, contact Lea Smalls at leas@u.washington.edu or 206-685-8710.
