Nobel laureate to speak at Bothell

Sherwood “Sherry” Rowland, a professor at the University of California, Irvine, who won the 1995 Nobel Prize in chemistry, will offer a free public lecture, Our Changing Atmosphere in 2004, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12 at UW Bothell. Rowland won the Nobel Prize for his research in atmospheric chemistry, explaining the destruction of the stratospheric ozone layer by chlorofluorocarbons. His lecture is in conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, being held this year in Seattle. The talk is in Room 005, UW2.
