Experts at Burke to ID visitors’ attic treasures

The Burke Museum is hosting its own “roadshow.” Visitors can bring in those treasures from the attic and basement on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m., and a dozen experts will be on hand to help uncover the unique stories behind the objects.

Anthropology, Geology, and Zoology curators and other specialists will be available to make identifications of cultural artifacts (from the Northwest, Pacific Islands, and Asia), objects from the natural world (like bones, fossils, rocks, minerals, and animal teeth), and even obscure yard sale objects.

Curators will also be available to answer questions and discuss current research. A limit of three items per visitor is requested because of the event’s popularity. No appraisals will be given. Artifact ID Day is included with museum admission.
