Voting for health, safety posts now under way in campus units

Voting for elected representatives to the UW organizational Health and Safety Committees is now in progress. These representatives will serve for two years. All staff, faculty, temporary, and student employees may vote.

Look for an announcement from your unit on when and where to vote. If your ballot is on the Web but you do not have Web access, an alternate voting method should be available.

As a reminder, the Health and Safety Committees assure that employee health and safety issues are identified and addressed throughout the University. Committee members:

  • review and evaluate incident/accident reports,
  • review and evaluate accident and illness prevention programs, and
  • provide a forum for employee concerns about health and safety.

Committees work at the unit level, advising deans, vice presidents, and other administrative heads. For more information, visit the Environmental Health & Safety Web site at http://www.ehs.washington.edu or contact Nikki Peters at 206-543-0464 or by e-mail at nk@u.washington.edu.
