Memorial planned for CSE employee

Memorial services have been set for James Hewitt, a 29-year-old computer systems engineer and architect in the UW Department of Computer Science & Engineering who died Aug. 9 in a motorcycle accident.

Services will be 1–3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Graham Visitors Center in the Washington Park Arboretum.

Hewitt, an avid traveler, also counted running, scuba diving, riding his motorcycle and flying among his favorite hobbies. He earned his pilot license earlier this year. He had been involved in tech support positions since high school, having worked directly or as a contractor for the UW, the Pacific Science Center, Microsoft, Attachmate, Providence Medical Center, Boeing and CSE. He was also founder of Techwolf Networks, an enterprise technology consulting firm.

For information about making contributions to a scholarship fund in Hewitt’s name and sending e-mail remembrances, see the CSE Web site at http://www.cs.washington.edu/.
