Dentistry’s Research Day set for Sept. 24

The UW community and the public can learn about research at the School of Dentistry on Wednesday, Sept. 24, during Research Day 2003. Visiting and UW faculty researchers will give oral presentations from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in Room T-439 of the Health Sciences Center. The theme of this year’s oral presentations is “New and Developing Materials and Diagnostics.”

The keynote speech will be given at 8:30 a.m. by Dr. Jack Ferracane, chairman of restorative dentistry and director of the Division of Biomaterials and Biomechanics at Oregon Health and Science University. Ferracane’s research interests include examining ways to improve the structural integrity and longevity of dental materials.

The presentations will be followed by a poster session from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Health Sciences Center.

Research Day 2003 is sponsored by the UW School of Dentistry and the school’s Office of Research.
