Wasley to speak on education, children

Patricia Wasley, dean of the College of Education, is scheduled to give a talk in 147 Architecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday April 16.

Wasley’s lecture, Research, Our Schools and Our Children will demonstrate the innovative nature of research within the college and how it relates to a renewed vision of public education. Since arriving at the UW in 2000, Wasley has focused on educational improvement within the state. She recently completed a major study of Chicago’s small-schools initiative and is currently leading a five-year national action project aimed at developing and retaining quality teachers.
