Nominees sought for Gates service award

Nominations for the Gates Volunteer Service Award are currently being accepted. The deadline for completed nominations is Wednesday, April 30.

The award honors the exemplary philanthropic legacy of the William H. Gates family and its long history of service to the institution. The honor is presented annually by the UW Foundation and will be announced this year at the second annual University of Washington Recognition Gala on Sept. 5.

The award recognizes the contributions of a volunteer who has advanced the UW through direct involvement and activities and by heightening public awareness of the goals and achievements of the UW and its Foundation Board. Recipients demonstrate commitment to the UW community through consistent gifts of not only financial assets, but leadership, talent and time.

The award was established in 2002 and nominations made last year will be considered this year as well. Nominations should be sent to Marsha Dondaldson, Office of Development and Alumni Relations, Box 351210.
