Thousands to explore UW research in health, engineering at weekend open houses

The weekend of April 26 and 27 will offer visitors to the University of Washington campus an unprecedented opportunity to learn more about research into engineering, medicine and health sciences through interactive exhibits and hands-on activities.

Both the College of Engineering Open House and the Health Sciences Open House will be that weekend.

Health Sciences: The Health Sciences Open House features more than 65 exhibitors who will demonstrate the latest innovations and technologies in health and medical sciences . Many of these exhibits are hands-on and interactive, while others feature virtual reality medical presentations, high-tech patient simulators and computerized models of recent research. Information will be available on educational and career opportunities in health sciences. The open house takes place every two years.

Hours for the open house are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, April 26, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday April 27. The Saturday schedule will also include lectures on topics ranging from family relationships to bioterrorism.
